Halo 3 spotty gameplay

I have had the same xbox and halo 3 for a long time. There are two missions that I know of that do not play. Instead, when the countdown timer ends and the screen goes black, it pops up an unreadable disc error. I payed to get the disc resurfaced and still no luck. the guy who resurfaced the disc say it could be the start of a red ring. What are your thoughts?Halo 3 spotty gameplay

yeah I thought that same thing but a friend of mine that didnt play Halo as often had the same trouble, and some more friends who play a little more, even so if that was the case my Rainbow Six Vegas disc would be phucked up, I think this same thing happens to Gears of War (1) discs
