The reason that I figured out why people are bashing this game is because of the number 3 in the title, and that is what is confusing these people in to thinking that this game is an expansion. Which of course it isn't.
This great game should have been titled Halo: ODST instead what it is, as that would have caused not as much confusion and alot less hate.I figured out why people are bashing Hal ...
Im Pretty sure people are bashing it because its a $60 game and only adds 1 new multiplayer mode and a new map pack, and repackaged stuff that Most Halo fans already have.Maybe if they sold disc 1 by itself for a discount price less people would bash it.I figured out why people are bashing Hal ...

Well okay, but CoD4 was $60 and had a short campaign with an online multi-player and no one complains about that. So I ask what still makes Halo 3: ODST any different.

CoD4 was a MASSIVE upgrade from CoD 2(CoD3 doesnt count, because it SUCKED.)
I would have thought the people were bashing the game because of the ''Halo'' in the title. There are just some Halo haters out there.
Firefight is invite only WHY???... (I don't even care about the second disk) They gotta make a patch. I don't even know 3 people who bought it. =( Firefight needs a lobby system/matchmaking...

It sounds like you guys have no friends on Live. I have had the same 46 friends on Live for awhile now and atleast 15 of them have Halo 3: ODST.

yeah, i didn't really get all the hate until i got home with it. the game is great, but since i already have all the map packs, it was kind of a let down. it's good for people just getting into halo multi-player though.

I think its because it was meant to be an xpansion at first and it just looks like microsoft have pushed bungie to stuff as much as they cn into the game to justify charging full price for the game instead of just expansion priceAnd the fact that there is no matchmking in firefight has got to be the biggest/dumbest oversight in any 360 game this year so far :S i mean why?!?!?!
Think of it this way..
The campaign was originally meant to be 3 hours or so. They doubled that.
Firefight mode is a whole new survival mode.
If that WAS an expansion.. You'd be looking at paying about 30 bucks for it.
Then people who didn't buy all the Halo 3 MP Maps like myself..
Theres a Halo 3 disc in there (MP only) with ALL those maps for free and 3 more. Which adds up to about 30+.
If you already bought the maps.. Then you're clearly a Halo fan and shouldn't be crying about it.
If you didn't, it's worth the buy.
Yes, it was ORIGINALLY supposed to be an expansion. Now it's a lot more.

people would stop bashing it if the put the campaign, new mode and new maps on xbox live

I'd like to see them do that, man what an outrage there would be within the Xbox community then after they raped everyone expecting it only to be available by purchasing ODST on a disc.
I see a lot of crying and I'm not sure why. This is obviously the best deal for players who don't have all of the Halo maps. Sure it would have been cool if they sold the single player disc for a discount price, but they didn't. If the multiplayer is doing nothing for you in this deal you can always wait for a price drop or sale. I bought it at Wal Mart tonight and usually they have about 100 copies when Iroll in after work at about 5am. Tonight they had 6 left, so obviously there are people out there with this game.
my problem had nothing to do with the 3...i actually never gave that any thought till you just made a thread about it. i just never liked thats it costs as much as a full price game when you can beat the campgin on easy in 2 hours and firefight seems broken to me without a matchmaking system.but im far from flaming the game since i dont care much about it or the halo series, hell i dont even have halo 3 anymore so odst itself isnt worth my time
Could be the lack of matchmaking and short campaign too.

i doi agree with everyone that is saying it sucks that there is no matchmaking for firefight which makes it so you have to depend on the fact that people on your friends list have it i hope they do patch this, but i doubt it. Although to the people that say the campain is short it is about 6 hoursyou can beat alot of games in around that timefallout 3all the call of dutysit's fine and i love the new spin they took on the series to bad this is the only apperance we will everhave as odsts
