I can no longer recover my gamertag and Xbox live support can do nothing for me. I have reformatted my hard drive, cleared the cache, checked that my live windows id is still active, and everything else. Nothing is working! Every single time the recovery process gets to the very last step and says ''XBL currently unavailable, Try again later.''I have over 20,000 gamerpoints connected to that gamertag and over $100 of downloadable content. I called microsoft support a few times and eventually they just put my problem to upper management and said they would call back. Eventually they did call back and they asked me if i had fixed the problem, i said no, and they said ok and they would call later. Now they haven't called and i have no way to get ahold of them. If i call support again ill get the same low level reps that can't help me with anything.So, in conclusion if this has happened to anyone what did you do? Had the same problem for about a month, Was just about to post on this thread saying how much dlc i lost etc when decided to try again then it just worked after a month of phoning ms. Seems it takes a while then they sort it out. Good luck with it

No you don't this happend to many people on the live forums.
Don't go to a worst case scenario. MS is giving free 1 months until its fixed.
