I did not like Halo 2 or 3's campaign and was not a huge fan of the Multiplayer, and dont care about any of the maps. Is ODST's Campaign and Firefight alone worth the $60 price tag? Also how does the Campaign for ODST compare to Halo 1's?ODST good for someone who didnt like Hal ...
I've only just begun the campaign, having completed only one flashback so I'm not an expert. But if your problems with Halo 2 and 3 were with the levels or the dual-weilding, etc, you'll probably like ODST. Hunters are actually scary to fight, Brutes tower over you, etc. But don't expect a radical change in the gameplay style. I got my hands wrapped around the controller and I knew I was playing Halo right from the moment I dropped out of the pod. I liked the feeling though, the atmosphere and music of New Mombasa when you play as The Rookie is, at this point, just as good as BioShock's atmosphere (though keep in mind, I'm at the start so I hope the feeling stays), or even Metroid Prime's. It's very haunting and lonely. And the sole flashback I played literally let me decide how I would approach the fight, and there were a ton of way to do it. You die quickly though, so there are no Master Chief heroics of fighting and fighting and fighting. You do need to be smarter on the whole. I think that's why so many people are saying this is the best campaign so far.But keep in mind, you're talking to a guy who played the game for 90 minutes total so far. You'd best listen to some people who have more time than I do to play games. :P Haven't even touched FireFight or the new online maps.ODST good for someone who didnt like Hal ...
