x-box different from wii?

i own a wii and really like it. however, i would really like to play so hardcore online games. so iv been looking into buying a new xbox 360.to do this i will need a wifi bridge to get wifi to the xboxatleast a xbox proa membership to xbox liveand the wifi in my house.anything im missing?and.....to speak to someone on xbox live will i need something gay like friend codes for the wii? thanks
