EA sports seem to never get it right

EA sports seems to enjoy letting the gameplay to their boxing, football, and basketball. With their boxing game Fight Night Round 4I felt they desrespected the sweet science with their lack luster gameplay, and terrible system of stamina. They hyped it up to be a sim of sims in the boxing world, most people who played round 3 felt it was good but had it share of problems. When round Round4 came it was nothing but spaming punches and represented the sport unrealisticly, it was terrible no movement among the boxers to dance, the stamina bar had lil to no effect on boxers, and to make matters worse it rewarded unskilled players who know nothing about the sports it was technically rock'em sock'em fighting.Madden is the only football game in town and what is sad is that it pervious gen counter part is still more valid in realism then it is now. The running back is the key to anyone being successful. 80% of players will either throw it to the flats to their back, screen pass, or use the spot route to their back 9 times out of 10. What is worse is that their seems to be no defense to stop it successfully the defenses particularly the linebackers are terribly slower then backs making it difficult to play defense even when u take a right angle, and the adjustments are laborious and hard to accomplish before the snap. Coverages in the game that are called in real situation seems to be invalid (one example is Cover 4 suppose to stop deep routes) doesn't really happen in here. Another is the power grid of teams. It seems impossible for teams that had losing records to fight over powered teams like pats, and steelers, in the 2k series even in their basketball game there is some chance to fight those over powered teams with a team that has a losing record.Live EAs basketball game...well they should keep trying live's shinning moment was when they introuduce the total control dribbling and the animations were cleaned up to boot. since then it has digressed and digressed into what it is now...EA sports seem to never get it right
I agree...you can say the same thing about NBA Live and Madden as well, they add ''new innovative'' features on a half-a$$ed game, that's like putting sprinkles on expired yogurt...THE OVERALL PRODUCT STILL SUCKS !EA sports seem to never get it right

Owned 2k5The only thing i really agree with is on live. after 07 it all went down hill.

I don't like sports games in general. They are never deep enough to simulate the actual sport. Half of the time you feel like doing a movement that's not in the game but crucial to the sport. I think UFC 2009 Undisputed came close to being the first sports game that nailed it. It mostly works, but the animations suck. I don't want my guy to start hugging the other, I want him to grapple. There is a difference.

Like in football if u run the ball the play action pass becomes more deadly, if ur not running the pall well it shouldn't work at all, Madden doesn't even make that adjustment in there at all. Principles are what I am looking for, UFC is good but its way to grown oriented. In most UFC bouts its mostly striking and in the later rounds take downs are obtained not given like it is in the game in the higher levels its very hard to stirke because of the counters and infamous throws that put someone in a bad position from the gates.
I disagree. From the games I've played, Fight Night Round 4 is stunning and FIFA 09 is the best football(soccer for youyanks)game of all time. I hear Madden is the best American Football game ever but since I'm not interested in the sport, I've never played the game.

Its futbol.
FIFA is great. FNR4 is good. Madden 10 is good. NBA live is decent, almost bad. MVP baseball was good.
FIFA is great. FNR4 is good. Madden 10 is good. NBA live is decent, almost bad. MVP baseball was good.
I never questioned soccer, its pretty solid. But the wholes in the gameplay of the EA's boxing, football, and basketball is overwhelming. What kills most players is online, there is cheesing and every game but the wholes of EA's games make it nearly impossible to overcome. Unfortunately skilled players seem like they have to cheese to combat it. Its this aspect of EA i don't appreciate, every game has cheese but if its insurmounatble to stop, its a big turn off. Fight night round 4 is incredible against the comp. Most players who agree to EA's game often fit the cheeser mode that most players complain about (hope not to offend anyone). With madden i feel like there is no chess match aspect to it, its an arcade sim to give it a fitting approach.
I thought this years madden was the best ive ever seen with the additions of gang tackling and fighting for fumbles i dont see what else would make it any better. If people are complaining about how the running game or the passing game sucks it obviously YOU and not the game because i have no problem doing either on All-madden or even against other players online. As far as NBA Live goes that game is a waste of 60 bucks every year its like they have never picked up a NBA 2K game before they should know what they have to do to compete but they just remain making sloppy basketball games.

That is true. I have to add though that some wrestlers in the UFC get takedowns pretty much instantly (in real life). But you are basically right, I found it easy to do takedowns with almost anyone.
i think EA dont have gamers making the games only programmers , i hope nothing from they titles , if you wanna buy an EA game watch like 74 videos before getting it
Theyre just all about the money game is second.
FNR4 looked worse than FNR3. I thought it was cartoony and not realistic at all. EA better get there act together!

Do you also use these cheesy plays on offense and became unstoppable? just wondering if your picking the right plays to defend it thats all.

I tried everything Cover 2 stops the back but the recievers are open, Cover 3, man and etc. The back in the terms of the pass play is ur last option you should go to, in real games the running back is usually covered and covered well by jus one linebacker, every sledom time u see a running back take it to the house like a reciever. With EA it is almost like every back can do it like they are Marshall Faulk, what made me go insane one time is Michael Tuner who drops alot of passes as a back had 11 receptions in a game and he should have only gained 2 yards on those attempts but his redicules tackle breaks made him technically drop everyone. I'm jus tried of unrealistic game play EA personifies the notion of glitch and holes for online gaming.
