Man, anyone notice if their eyes have gone down hill since playing video games. I realize being in my 40's the old eyes begin to take a hit...but geez, since I got my xbox 360...my eyes have really gone down hill. I have reading glasses, but they obviously don't work watching tv or videos. My job also consists of alot of computer screen work...I am sure that is part of it too...anyway just wondering what others have experienced. Peace. :DEye Strain
Yeah, I'm feeling that too. My job is spent in front of a computer screen so my eyes get really tired when I play games anymore. Try to avoid playing in the dark and turn down the brightness or contrast on your TV. That's what I've started to do.Eye Strain
The main thing is you gotta make sure you blink more. Thats whats hardest on your eyes. Sometimes I can play for hours but i dont blink enough and it screws with my eyes bad.
Back when I was like 14 I had rockin eyes, then videogames.. lots and lots of Videogames, I played a MMO for 3 years, staring into my PC Screen for hours upon hours a day then my Vision went to crap by Parents blamed it on videogames. I went to the doctor only to find out that..... Videogames did nothing to my eyes, I just have a terrible stigmatism in my left eye which sucks. I tried contacts.. boy they suck I had to go to the doctor to get it removed since it was suctioned onto my eye and for like 3 days I had to sit in a dark room.
The two things that hurt my eyes are when I play for a long time, then I drive directly after and when I play guitar hero because I have a habit of not blinking. I am too concentrated and I forget to blink. And breathe.

Blinking...well that all sounds good, but in racing games if you blink you crash...and you all know what I mean. But I will try to remember to blink more and take more breaks.

[/QUOTE]Damn that sucks, Yeah I only have it in my left eye and it only really really truly sucks when I drive at night, too many lights just makes everything a blur. Unfortunatly I hate contacts and glasses will have no effect. Soap, thats that.

Sometimes I experience uncontrollable eye twitching, but nothing else comes with it.

I can't play with my contacts in. All that no blinking makes my contacts and eyes so dry. My eyes get so irritated and even more tired that I have to take them out.
I was at the doctor a few months ago for a basic check up and some shots and they said I had 20/20 vision, but lately I have noticed that I have trouble reading things that are far away. I'm in High school and in my health class I sit near the back of the room and have a really hard time reading what he writes on the board sometimes. This really the only class I notice it in so it may just be like the lighting and that he likes red markers (I've heard that things written inredare harder to read than black or blue).
Damn yeah? I had Small Hardlens Contacts, my Eye doctor told me like last month that Glasses would have no effect and the only way around it would be to use contacts, since the glasses are so far from your eye they don't produce enough power to cancel out the harshness. But don't worry contacts imo suck. But thats because I had an awful time with mine.
Occaisionally, I experience mild to moderate eye strain after watching TV for very long amounts of time.
I've never had good eyes and they continue to go down hill.
My doctor said my eyes are horrible; I havehad prescription glasses since about age 8.
Hi,
Since i'v gotten myself the Arcade Version of the Xbox360 last christmas i seem to be having some bad side effects from playing games on my particular xbox. When i first played the xbox on christmas day i found my self having serious eye strain, dizzyness and headaches (this was playing Gears of War 2/3 on a 40'' Flat screen HD TV) - the headaches stayed with me for a few months after and eventually went away.
I'v tested the xbox on a 40'' HD ready TV, 15'' TV and a 32'' HDMV TV - with the games Gears of war, call of duty 5 and callibore - All give me first eye strain, dizzyness and then hadaches.
I have played with a friends Xbox360 on a 32'' TV on cod4 and gears of war and i dont get any of these symptoms - i use computer screens every day, i use laptop, mointor screens and again i dont get any of these symptoms, i can watch TV normaly on these 3 TV's i have and i dont get any of these symptoms.
I'm now wondering if it's something just to do with my xbox360, is there setting i can try to adjust or sort out in any way - or anything that may help me - please help.
